Unlike string or wind instruments, the guitar (no matter the genre) is a very isolating instrument.  This is mainly due to the fact that we do very little playing with other instruments.  Instead we sit at home or in our practice room refining our playing.  I strongly believe, that part of being a well balanced musician is the experience of playing with other musicians.  During my time at The Hartt School of Music, I was fortunate to become a member of the prestigious Performance 20/20 honor chamber music group.  This gave me several performance experiences with instruments I otherwise would have not played with (Trumpet, Harp, Percussion, Trombone, etc..), also it allowed me to perform in larger ensembles (IE: Guitar and String Quartet) of typical and atypical (IE: Quartet for Flute, Harp, Guitar and Percussion or Trio for Trumpet, Guitar and Marimba) instrumentation.  From my time at Hartt, I even co-founded a professional duo, Tempo del Fuoco with fellow Hartt Alumni and 20/20 member Sarah Larsen.  I personally encourage all of my students to take part in some kind of ensemble activity, and my own ensemble experiences are the major reason why I created the CSA Guitar Ensemble.

Ensemble/Chamber Music Coachings

I offer regular or one-off coachings on any ensemble or chamber group which includes guitar.  This can be (but not limited to) Guitar Duos, Trios and Quartets; Violin/Guitar Duos; Flute/Guitar Duos; Mixed Larger Ensembles (that include guitar), etc.  Just like my lessons, I offer a variety of different lesson options.

  • Single One-Off Consultation Coaching (Length 90-minutes) – Great for a group who is looking to get a single coaching on a given piece or set of pieces they are working on.  Ensembles ranging from Mixed Chamber Groups that include guitar to Guitar Duos, Trios, Quartets or other guitar ensembles.  Fee* = $95
  • Regular Ensemble/Chamber Music Coachings - (Length 60-minutes) – Groups who want regular coachings with Nick Cutroneo.  Coachings can be schedule weekly, bi-weekly or monthly depending on your needs.  Fee* = $60 (non students)/$40 (student rate**)
